"Sales projections simply look too low for the song to reach the Hot 100. In fact, the final figure should be noticeably down from its total last week of 17,000 downloads sold. That sum (up 72 percent) was fueled by her performance of the song at the Grammy Awards on Feb. 8, with last week's chart covering the Feb. 9-15 tracking period. This week's chart will encompass purchases made Feb. 16-22, past the Grammys afterglow, and the total could be around 5,000-6,000, according to early estimates."

Madonna makes history... again

Billboard.com just announced that Madonna scored her 44th no. 1 hit on the Dance Club Songs Chart. That makes her the second artist - and the first female artist - to score 44 no. 1 hits on a single chart (the other being George Strait who scored 44 no. 1 hits on the Hot Country Songs Chart).

I don't know many women who have had a successful career in pop music as long as I've had. And I waited until I was older to have children. I raised children and wasn't married. And I continue to express myself -- my sexuality -- in my 50s, even though that's also considered taboo, and I get a lot of shit for it. But in 20 years, Miley Cyrus probably won't get shit for it. Then, it'll be like, "Oh, yeah, that's nothing new."
